What I learned about how to making a successful infographic is to realize who the audience is. If it is a small child you need to have lots of colourful pictures and make sure it's not wordy. If it is an adult can putt more words, but you still want it to be visually heavy.
My target audience is teenagers. I think my infographic does a good job of targeting them because I use colours that they would associate for good and bad. Like for the things that a digital citizen isn't I put it in red. And for the things that a digital citizen is, I put it in green. I also used social media symbols that all teenagers use like Snapchat and Facebook.
I used the pictures I did because they are bright, I chose the app logos because most teenagers have these apps.
This year I am in grade 8. So far we have worked on labels, we have made a slideshow about persuasive techniques advertisements use. We are now working on info graphics and later on in the year we will make our own. We have also been working on multiples, factors, and prime and composite numbers. So far I have been enjoying grade 8. If I had to rate it out of 10 I would give it a 7. I have really enjoyed math, science, and history this year. I so far have found this year easy. It is easier for me because I was one of ten who were in the 7/8 class last year, so I over heard a lot of the things they had to work on last year. Some things I have found difficult this year is trying not to talk about the work when were not supposed to. This year the teacher I have is new to my school, me, and teaching grade 8. I am still getting used to the way he teaches. He is very flexible, like he lets us listen to music as long as you are getting a considerable amount of work done. I have had trouble with some of the girls in the class. The one problem I have had is my one friend thinks she is the boss of everybody and tries to control me, and I didn't like it so I stood up for myself and eventually smoothed things out. If I could change anything in the class it would be that our teacher incorporates more fun into our work instead of have us most of the time working out of a text book. Like he could maybe make up a crazy word problem with something about monkeys or something funny. Also I would like to have the freedom of sitting wherever I would like. I would like this to happen because If I cant concentrate on my work I like to move to a different area of the classroom. I see this year being a positive year. I feel like I am understanding most of the work and I am becoming more confident in myself. One thing I am looking forward to at the end of the year is going on the grade 8 grad trip. Lat year the grade 8's went to the playdium, Ripley's aquarium, the C.N tower and finally an Jays game. I think by the end of the year we would have deserved it.
